Non-Profit Community Service (NPCS) Free Web Hosting - Terms of Service
NPCS free hosting accounts are granted on a case-by-case basis for the purpose of providing Non-Profit Community Service Organizations an actual, visible online web site presence to groups that do not have a web site and would not otherwise have the means to do so. This means if you have a free NPCS Hosting account, you must actually use the account for a web site. No NPCS free hosting account may be used for simply "parking" a domain name, or for redirecting a domain to any other site, or for displaying a duplicate of a web site which is on another server, or for displaying only a portion or "side branch" of a web site while the rest of the organization's web site is on another server (such as using an NPCS account only for a form or personal info pages while the rest of the web site resides on a different server elsewhere), or as simply a "link holder" directing visitors to another site or sites. Additionally, a Free NPCS hosting account may not take advantage of functions such as scripts, email or email lists/groups without actually having an actual visible, working web site online. In other words, NPCS free accounts are for non-profit organizations that do not otherwise have a web site and will be using it for that purpose.

A small but visible active and working link to AmberHost Web Services must appear at the bottom of every page of any web site hosted under the AmberHost Non-Profit Community Service Free Web Hosting Package plan. The link on each page should look like this:

Text and link colors may be changed if desired, but the wording and link must remain intact and must be visible and readable. The link does NOT have to be in bold font unless you want to do so.

A web site which has been granted free hosting by AmberHost under the terms of the NPCS Hosting accounts may not advertise or link to web hosting companies and/or domain registration companies other than AmberHost, either visibly or invisibly on the web site’s pages, nor may such advertisements or links to other web hosting and/or domain registration companies be in any way hidden in the source code of the web site’s pages.

Any Non-Profit Community Service Free Web Hosting Package web site that uses a higher amount of server resources than its Package amount (such as, but not limited to, CPU resources, memory usage, and network resources over their allotted limits) will be given the option to either reduce the resources used to an acceptable level, or upgrade its service plan to one of our paid Packages. If upgrading to a paid Package Plan, since the web site in question will have become a regular paid account it therefore will no longer be required to feature the "Free web hosting (etc.)" link above.

Other web hosting companies, web hosting providers, and web hosting resellers are not eligible for AmberHost Free Web Hosting. AmberHost Free Web Hosting packages may not under any circumstances be sold or resold to any person, organization, or entity. AmberHost Hosting reserves sole discretion and retains the right to refuse for any reason any application for a Non-Profit Community Service Free Web Hosting Package.

For each Non-Profit Community Service Organization free hosting account application that is considered by us, a notification about the application for said account will be sent to the specified Organization and its named Contact Person/s. The Organization and its Contact person/s shall have opportunity to offer feedback or protest about the applied-for hosting account. If the Contact party/ies or a valid representative of the named Organization requests within 24 hours that the hosting account be revoked, the account, even if already granted, shall be revoked.

If your application for free hosting is accepted, your web site's focus and purpose must remain as you specified on your application and must remain solely for the purpose of non-profit Local Community Service. If we find out after granting an NPCS account that the purpose of the web site has "morphed" into something unrelated to what was specified in the application, or that the account was obtained under false pretenses, you will be given the opportunity to upgrade to a paid account or the hosting account will be permanently terminated.

Because of the large quantity of requests we receive for free NPCS hosting, any NPCS account that is observed by us to be unused or inactive on our servers by 90 days after the account's creation may be automatically terminated without notice in order to clear room on the server for those organizations which do want and will be actively using a free hosting account. "Unused" or "Inactive" apply to sites for which the domain's DNS is not pointed to our nameservers, or for which no real home page is visible for the site. A parking-type page, or "Under Construction", or "Coming Soon" etc. page is not considered to be an active "home page".

We do frequently monitor all free hosting accounts for compliance. Noncompliance with any of the TOS/AUP by Free NPCS Hosting sites will result in suspension of the account or may result in immediate termination of the account, depending upon the severity of the offense. If an account is terminated, this means ALL files for that hosting account, including all backups for that account, will be permanently deleted from the server.
