Generating backup with cPanel

The Backup area of your cPanel Control Panel allows you to backup your current hosting account, settings, files and databases.
You should always keep your own backups of your hosting account, on your local computer, to provide for easy recovery in the event of a problem.

To make a backup use theese options

                               backup your data
  • A full backup can be compressed and saved to a root directory of your account, or uploaded to any ftp server and an email will be sent to an address you provide when the backup is made.
  • If you choose to download "Home directory" you'll get all your files compressed in a tar.gz format and ready to download.
  • You can download an existing MySQL database by choosing "Download a MySQL Database Backup".
Below the heading "Download a MySQL Database Backup" is listed all your MySQL databases you can choose from. Just click on any and the download will start.
You can also download only one subdomain backup by using the Aliases and Filters.

To restore your backup you made earlier, use the following:

                             backup your data
Or You can use a prewritten PHP script, that generates a full backup you don't even need to log in to your cPanel.
You just need to fill some fields with logins and passwords and run something like: http://www.yoursite.com/fullbackup.php and your full backup will arive to the destination you'll specify.
